Hi Elayne; thanks. Yes, we are, but our new granddaughter lives in Ft. Collins so we'll obviously be splitting our time. I'll send you an email soon; I think there's one day (a Monday) when I would be able to get together. Would really enjoy seeing you if the date works out!

An observation: Having entered my seventh decade, I'm acutely aware of the importance of listening to what your body is telling you. These days, it's a daily conversation.

I hope to do a Century this year. I wake each day and check all relevant body parts. I've grown adept enough to understand their signals. Some days, I ride long. Some days I ride hard. Some days I simply ride to relax. Some days, I rest. The thing is, I can't tell, even a day in advance, what my body will tell me in the morning.

I think this is one of the funkier aspects of aging. I'm still trying to find my way.

I was always moved, somehow, someway, by runners wearing T-shirts that indicated they were running in memory of someone dearly loved. Those T-shirts always got to me (sometimes made me cry), tripped me into my own reveries.

It's a good thing to remember loved ones. Sometimes those memories are the tonic we need to fend off despair.

I'm sorry for your loss. I pray your memories bring comfort.

And, hey!!! Congratulations, Grandpa!!!
